The main attraction at this year’s Chicago Auto Show was the new and improved Ford Shelby GT500 which will be available to the public next year.

Among the many improvements is a new 5.4-litre aluminum engine to replace the older iron one that also had the same displacement capacity. According to Ford, this helped them shave off 50kg from the car’s gross weight. This new engine outputs 550-hp of power and 510-lb/ft of torque which is 10 more hp of power than the older engine. Power-to-weight ratio of the car will of course be significantly higher than its predecessor. This engine is also more fuel efficient than its predecessor’s one. Read the rest of this entry »

The Ford Mustang is one car that has never run out of innovative ideas to augment its popularity as a legend. The 2012 Ford Mustang GT Blue Angels Edition is the culmination of the numerous modern concepts that can be incorporated into the Mustang design. The newly designed car is scheduled for auction at the Gathering of Eagles charity auction during the Experimental Aircraft Association 2011 AirVenture Oshkosh, the world’s greatest aviation celebration. Proceeds of the auction are intended for the Young Eagles Organization.

The 2011 Ferrari World Design Contest was held for all university students who were tasked to create their concept of the future car and build 2D and 3D models of their dream car. The 3D models were built in 3D Autodesk Alias. Entrants to the contest submitted car designs with novel designs like hybrid engines which offer combinations of alternative power sources. The use of new car materials to optimize car weight and driving comfort were also conceived by the youthful designers who submitted creative body designs and elegant car forms. Myron Scott can also be acknowledged for coming up with the name of the vehicle after corvette, which is a little manoeuvrable warship. It’s been manufactured in 6 generations in targa coupe, t-top coupe, convertible, and coupe body forms. Initially constructed in St. Louis, Missouri and Flont, Michigan, it is constructed at a General Motors assembly plant located in Bowling Green, Kentucky at present.

As a joint project of Mallet Cars of Berea, Ohio and Ugur Sahin Design from Gorinchem, Netherlands, the very powerful Corvette has just gotten a bit better.

The Team of USD B.V. ,had promising dreams for the Corvette C3. They already knew the capabilities of the favored supercar, which has a supercharger-twin turbo 7-liter V8 engine. But they wanted to create something that not had power in the inside, but it had to reflect on the outside as well. And thus they created something far more than design and style.
