US automakers have scored poorly in a recent US environmental study, thanks to their gas-guzzling, pollution-spewing light trucks. Inspite of touting green thumbs, the automakers DaimlerChrysler AG, Ford Motor Co and General Motors Corp were ranked second, third and fourth `worst’ in the pollution performance of their 1998 model-year vehicles.
